Districts

Because of deals struck between the two major political parties most Austinites have no meaningful choice in who they elect to state or federal offices.  The districts which include Austin are designed to guarantee victory to one party or the other and to insure that incumbents are kept in office forever.   It is almost impossible to change the partisan balance of these districts and kick any of our legislators out of office no matter how outrageous their conduct or how poor their legislative record is.

With redistricting coming up in the state legislature we have a rare opportunity to open up cuter access and get better representation for many in the Austin area.
