Live on BlogTalkRadio

I’m moderating the second segment of my political show on BlogTalkRadio called Big Tent Roundtable today at 5pm EST.

It’s a panel discussion show on Politics featuring myself and some of the editors and writers from Blogcritics.org. It should be a lot of fun.

The button below should take you to the show, and the widget may or may not play the show once it’s started.

  1. Dave,
Your article called “Why Ron Paul Will Fail” was extremely informing and made a ton of sense. I have a question about your statement that Ron Paul supporters have disrupted polls. Do you suggest that Ron Paul supporters stop participating in the online polls or is there anotehr type of disruption that is going on?

Also, you mentioned that Ron Paul supporters are alienating the GOP base. How do we show are support for him while at the same time embrase and convert the GOP base? I am certain that I am as guilty as any Ron Paul supporter of letting myself get over zealous. I will not try to defend or justify that because you are right on the money. My only point is that, speaking for myself only, my actions stem from the frustration of on one hand wanting so much to a man of principle and patriotism become president and on the other hand not knowing what to do and what not to do. I guess my point is that we need guidance. We need more people like yourself to guide us in what to do and what not to do. Over 70,000 Ron Paul supporters rely on meetup.com groups to organize their efforts. I am a member of the Upstate SC group #1321 myself. Could you offer me any advise that I can take to my group to help us not be part of the problem and become a larger, more effective part of the solution?

    Thank you for your wisdom,

  2. What I was referring to there was not an online poll – though I think skewing them is pointless and irritates and alienates the media. I was referring to straw polls and other GOP party group meetings of one kind or another.

I appreciate that you’re looking for suggestions. I’d suggest keeping a relatively low profile at straw polls and other party activities. Just show up and be nice and socialize. Then organize to make a real impact at the precinct conventions. That’s where the actual work is done.

There’s actually a good video on YouTube which shows a discussion of a San Antonio area RP group with some GOP experience. I think these guys are on the right track, and you can see their video on YouTube.

    Dave
