Noam Chomsky on 9/11 Truth

9/11 Myths

Those who have read my writing know that I’m no fan of Noam Chomsky’s political views, but I have to admit that there are things about Chomsky which I can’t help but admire. His ability to chop logic and reason things out is undeniable, and his honesty in acknowledging facts which don’t necessarily fit with his anarchosocialist worldview is refreshing.

A case in point is his rational opposition to the “Truther” movement, where he applies simple logic to point out the fundamental illogic of their views. No need to mess with pseudoscience or hypotheticals when the foundational assumptions of the Truthers are so fundamentally irrational. It’s well worth watching Chomsky dissect the movement on video.

One of my favorite phrases from Chomsky comes from his public speeches where he often repeats: “…anyone with a sense of decency…” xyz. Well, no great disappointment could there be than the great professor. His position on 911 truth is stupid, and devoid of any sound review of data. I feel sorry for him. Someone must have gotten to him. He has spent something on the order of 45 years documenting in great detail the psychopathy of American foreign policy, but when that psychopathy becomes directed at the American population as a justification for war, it is now “insane?”. This site’s support of him on this issue is truly indecent. Noam uses no data, and only patented ad hominem attack to further his position — who knows why. His pattern of though suddenly veers from a position completely consistent with his 45 years of research and publication and heads off into a defense of some kind of “decency” that he suddenly finds at the heart of our leadership where his own research has shown it to be missing. WTF??? Anyone with a sense of decency would turn their backs on your web site and Chomsky for this intellectual atrocity. It is sick.

“Someone must have gotten to him”

Typical truther argument. If you can’t dispute someone’s reasoning then he must be one of “them”.

Chomsky has never impressed me as saying anything important or of any relevance. He is nothing more than a mumbling linguist that works on the edge of the Military Industrial complex. As for the Idiotwars site,,,it is pathetic. A bunch of screaming shills shouting down any attempt at rational discourse by anyone enraged by the out of control policies of the CIA. You have to be a complete Axxhole to think the USA does not have whistleblowers neutralized, governments overthrown and patriots executed all for global resource governance.

If I was wrong about Willie it would be justifiable to spalecute about my motives. But since I am right that he is a con artist, and I have proven that he is a liar and a fraud, such speculations are not justified. Late in 2006 Carol Brouillet asked me to write a review of Willie’s DVD. I’d first heard of Willie back in 2004 in connection with his lawsuit against George Bush, and was inclined to think well of him. After watching the DVD once, I drafted a favorable review. There was no reason for any animosity. Then I watched the DVD again and realized that his story did not add up. I also found a video of another version of his schtick on the internet and saw that he was crying on cue when he told the story of the woman cut in half by falling glass. I informed Carol that I could not write a favorable review. I kept my knowledge to myself, satisfied to have kept myself free of an embarrassing endorsement. Late the following spring I heard that Willie was coming to town and I figured that since nobody else had noticed that his story didn’t add up, maybe I had been wrong. After all, I’d only invested a few hours in investigating him. I thought Hispanic Outreach could be a productive experiment, and I started making inquiries about organizing an appearance for him in San Jose. I also wanted the architects and engineers group to investigate the basement bombs story, Willie being just one witness of several. So I started some work on that. But first I wanted to get some clarity on his story of the 22-story collapse in WTC1. Willie claimed that he had .been trying to reach the Windows on the World restaurant, climbing up the stairway, “opening doors and letting people out”. He claimed he got as far as 39 when there was a 22-story collapse above him, from 65 to 43 “Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!” My engineering instincts were that this alleged 22-story internal collapse was impossible and if it did happen, it would have caused the destruction of the tower when Willie was still on 39. If this happened, it would be a great mystery because the airplane damage was up at 93 to 99, and those floors were separated from 65 by reinforced mechanical floors at 75 and 76. So what caused the collapse at 65? I wanted the architects and engineers to investigate this too, so I started making some preliminary inquiries. Carol informed Willie that I wanted to know details about the 22-story collapse–did anyone else see it? Hear it? How did he know it was a collapse? When he heard on the radio “We lost 65!” were they maybe talking about Engine 65, which was destroyed? Willie’s response was quite unheroic. Rather than address my questions, he threatened to cancel his Oakland appearance in a 600-seat hall! I found this behavior puzzling, and began to wonder if my attitudes about his DVD had been right after all. Willie’s response was quite unheroic. I found this behavior puzzling, and began to wonder if my attitudes about his DVD had been right after all. It was several years before I realized why Willie reacted so strongly to these questions. It was because the 22-story collapse was the keystone to his story—without that lie his whole narrative arc fell apart.
