Welcome Traditional Republicans

April 11th, 2008 · 3 Comments

These days many Republicans find themselves wondering what happened to the Republican Party they grew up with.  What happened to the “party of principle” which believed in a Big Tent and the fundamental principle that government should never grow so large that it became a threat to the liberty of individual Americans.

Today’s GOP is torn apart by factionalism, dominated by extremists and special interests, lost in a wilderness of big government crony capitalism and intolerance which would have made the party’s founders sick at heart.  This is not the party of Lincoln, of Teddy Roosevelt, of Goldwater or even of Reagan.  The values which they championed have been abandoned and the party has forgotten where it came from and the ideas on which it was founded.

The party is losing members fast and has lost its appeal to the younger generation.  We’re getting old and out of touch both with our past and our future.  If the party is to survive this must change, and the answer to future success lies in the qualities which made the party great in the past.  Now is the time for Republicans who still believe in our traditions to reassert themselves and take our party back.

Let’s work together to restore our traditions and make the GOP great again.

How This Site Works

April 10th, 2008 · 1 Comment

This site has a two part structure. Here on this front page you’ll find featured articles on Republican Party values and issues. It works more or less like a weblog, and you can respond to articles and post your comments. The oither main part of the site is the forums, which are designed for free flow and discussion of ideas on particular topics. Registered users can add topics and anyone can comment on them in a format which encourages the free exchange of ideas.

The forums feed the blog to a certain extent, because ideas developed there will eventually become articles published here and eventually passed on to our affiliated sites as syndicated content.

It all depends on your participation, both in the forums, and ultimately if you want to get more involved, as a writer. So get involved and let’s make some progress.

The Traditions of the Republican Party

April 9th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Today the Republican Party is at a crossroads. It faces the choice of continuing down a path of failed leadership and forgotten principles, or taking the hard and rutted road back to its beginnings. The party was founded to restore the values of our founding fathers in a time when those values had been forgotten. Today as in 1854, the political system has fallen into the hands of greedy and ambitious leaders who disregard the rights of the people and promote ideas which are fundamentally unamerican because they see them as a route to greater political power and control. The forces of special interests, sectionalism, bureaucratic indifference and institutionalized oppression are stronger than ever before. They will not be stopped unless the Republican Party remembers its purpose and stands up against them.
