Back to classic poster lettering. This time our source is posters from the Winterland Ballroom, one of the great San Francisco music venues of the 60s and 70s. It was a ice rink that gradually evolved into a ballroom and concert hall and by the 70s it had become one of the major stops for punk bands, including the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Germs and many others. You can see full video of the Sex Pistols famous 1978 concert at the Winterland HERE.

While the Winterland posters were not as famous as those from the Avalon or the Fillmore, they are very collectible today 40 years later and some command higher prices on the collectors market than similar posters from the better known venues.

Our Winterland type is based on samples of hand lettering from several posters in the 1960s and 70s. It has a nice feel for the punk era and looks great in titles and headers.

You can try the DEMO version of Winterland for free to try out. It has a limited character set. You can ORDER the full version for only $24..
