Updated Font: Septimus

septimusmfWe’ve recently made some revisions to our Septimus font, cleaning up the outlines and tweaking the positioning of many of the characters to make it read a bit more clearly, especially on the web.

Septimus offers an excellent combination of elegance and legibility, as well as relatively open character forms. It is a demi-serif font and now comes in regular, bold and italic weights.

To demonstrate it in use, here’s a quote from the poem “Great Western Road” by Donny O’Rourke done in Septimus which we are now using for blockquotes throughout the site:

Glasgow, you look beatific in blue
and I’ve a Saturday before me
for galleries and poems,
a house full of Haydn,
and beneath my kitchen window,
tennis stars in saris
lobbing backhands at the bins.
French coffee, and who knows maybe
Allen Ginsberg in my bath!

To get the new version of Septimus with regular, bold and italic and download it immediately just ORDER the full version online for only $29.
