Quicksilver was designed as one of the original featured fonts included in our Psychedelic Fonts Package. It was developed into a full font from a sample of lettering from Quicksilver Messenger Service’s live album Summer of ’68 and posters for shows associated with it at the Fillmore and other clubs. The original lettering was by David Stephens and stands out in contrast to the artwork on the album cover. The lettering is quite appealing. The art not so impressive. It’s also quite different from the lettering on other QSM projects, which overused lettering in a style similar to our Hendrix font or less often lettering based on the same Mucha lettering as our Moravia font. The font has a light, modern look and has been expanded into a full character set with upper case character and a large number of variant characters, plus numbers and punctuation. It’s excellent for a lot of display and title uses, and we’ve just updated the font with cleaner outlines and additional variant characters.
