Classic Font: Pyle Gothic

Pyle Gothic is based on lettering designed by Howard Pyle, from his Adventures of Robin Hood and King Arthur and His Knights.  It combines elements of calligraphy and a simulation of primitive printing techniques. The original characters were carved into wood blocks from which the black and white illustrations with captions were printed.

In this new edition we have improved the kerning and spacing and added alternative symbols while preserving the character of the original font. It’s an excellent choice if you want something with an antique look and a lot of rough style.

You can order Pyle Gothic individually as a single font or find it in our Howard Pyle Font and Art Collection. You can try the DEMO version of Pyle Gothic for free. The demo has a limited character set. Or you can ORDER the full version for only $24.
