taxpayers, land owners, businesses and the environement from this ill-conceived
and unworkable attempt to export Austin's problems into communities to the east.

on that level. Some of the general issues and some specific concerns

- eliminate extra-jurisdictional taxation
- stand firm against any kind of state income tax
- protect neighborhoods from involuntary annexation by city governments
- protect the right of people and businesses to keep and use their land

- fair and equal enforcement of laws
- reform of abusive laws & elimination of unnecessary legislation
- work towards elimination of drug prohibition laws
Free Trade
- open up free competition in telecomunications
- end government supported monopolies in entertainment media
- end regional government monopolies in transportation
Governmental Reform
- make state government more answerable to the people
- limit government intrusion in the natural development of
suburban areas
- require state agency websites to be cross-platform compatible
Education
- eliminate state use of federal funds for education
- initiate effective voucher system to open up access to
private education (step 1)
- develop a system for local school autonomy and privatization (step 2)
- reform teacher certification system to widen teacher pool
There are larger issues in the world and more powerful forces of
government which threaten our rights, but standing firm for the basic
rights and needs of citizens on a local level is the first step
towards an effective nationwide movement to preserve our fundamental
liberties. A few determined individuals can set an example for the
rest of the nation if we work together to address the injustices in
our own back yard.
