It claimed to show undercover investigators visiting Philadelphia locations for phone vendor Stand Up Wireless and locations for one other company.
In one exchange, the investigator -- posing as someone who wants a free phone -- asks if the phone will belong to him after he gets it.
"Whatever you want to do with it," the worker says.
The investigator floats the possibility of getting "money for heroin." The employee responds: "Hey, I don't judge."
Global Connection Inc. of America, the parent company for Stand Up Wireless, has already taken disciplinary action against the employees in question.
"Any employee involved has already been terminated," CEO Dave Skogen told FoxNews.com.
But Sen. David Vitter, R-La., who has long been critical of the phone hand-out program -- which was dubbed the "Obamaphone" during the 2012 campaign -- slammed the initiative in light of the video.
"The free government cell phones issue just keeps getting more outrageous," Vitter said in a statement. "This phone program has expanded far beyond its original intent, and having Washington force people to pay for free cell phones for others is offensive enough, but the waste, fraud and abuse is beyond words."
Vitter has previously, and unsuccessfully, pushed legislation to strip funding for cell phones under the Lifeline program. He wants the program to focus only on landline services.
The 22-minute Project Veritas video showed undercover activists going to several locations and asking about the phones. It's unclear how many locations they ultimately visited before recording the exchanges shown in the video.
In one exchange, which apparently happened in May, a Stand Up Wireless vendor told the activist that the phone would belong to him if he got it.
The activist then asked the worker about the phone's value. The worker recommended going to "any pawn shop. They'll be more than happy to tell you."
"So I could get the phone and then sell it?" he said.
"Yeah -- I don't care what you do with it," the worker replied.
The program was originally launched under the Reagan administration to help poor people have access to phones for emergencies, job searches and other vital communications. The program is funded by charges that appear on the monthly bills of every phone customer in the country.
The cost of the program, though, has tripled to $2.2 billion in 2012 from $819 million in 2008, when cell phones were added. The risk of abuse has also risen.

read rest of article here: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/06/18/video-shows-workers-offering-obamaphones-to-those-vowing-to-sell-them/

School Administrators across the state of Texas are spending millions of tax dollars that could be utilized to hire teachers or help students but instead they are funding this liberal/progressive organization. It is imperative that YOU (children or no children in the school district) get involved and find out the amount of money your district is spending on TASA and Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).

CSCOPE, unfortunately laid the foundation for project based learning (PBL) in our Texas schools.
article below from Fox News

As the House and Senate continue to debate overhauling America's immigration system, new differences are emerging between the two chambers over how to handle criminal illegal immigrants.
The controversy is emerging after two police officers were killed, allegedly by illegal immigrant drunk drivers with prior DUI arrests.
"There are thousands of Americans killed intentionally and accidentally by illegal immigrants who have already been arrested and could have been deported from the U.S.," said Kris Kobach, an attorney representing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who claim the Obama administration is preventing them from deporting law-breakers.
In Houston, police say 23-year-old Andres Munos was driving drunk on May 20 when he struck and killed 47-year-old Sgt. Dwayne Polk, a Harris County sheriff's deputy. Munos, who is in this country illegally, was previously arrested in 2010 for drunk driving and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
In Phoenix, Jesus Cabrera-Molina admitted he was drunk and high on cocaine the night his SUV struck and killed Phoenix Police Officer Daryl Raetz -- but he denies he was behind the wheel. Witnesses disagree, and Phoenix police have charged Molina with manslaughter.

read rest of article here: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/06/17/debate-grows-over-deporting-illegal-immigrants-with-rap-sheets-after-police/?test=latestnews

from Brandon Darby posted at Texas GOP Vote

As left-of-center voices call for even less border security, a chilling report from U.S. law enforcement reveals an alleged Mexican cartel member claims he killed 30 individuals on U.S. soil. The confessed killer, Jose Manuel Martinez, is originally from Mexico but has legal status in the U.S. according to Fox News Latino. He was arrested in Arizona but later extradited to Alabama for his crimes there. U.S. law enforcement has confirmed 11 of the murders on U.S. soil that were carried out for an unidentified Mexican cartel. “Everything he’s telling us has checked out. He knows all the details. He’s spot-on with the specifics of a crime,” Capt. Tim McWhorter of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department told Alabama’s local TimesDaily.com. The revelations from this case come after multiple corpses were discovered buried in Oregon which are believed to be related to what authorities there called “an unprecedented level of Mexican cartel presence” in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News. Breitbart News has reported on multiple recent arrests, indictments, or sentences given to Mexican nationals who were leading large narcotics operations in the U.S., purportedly for entities in their home nation. Breitbart News also revealed the arrest of an operative for a large international narcotics ring based in Guatemala in Alabama. The operative was caught with over $1,000,000 in U.S. currency.

See more at: http://www.texasgopvote.com/issues/restore-families/mexican-cartel-assassin-confirmed-killed-11-us-soil-confessed-more-005579

Thies

In a 7-2 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that a federal law allowing persons to register to vote (in federal elections) merely upon their sworn statement that they are citizens, cannot be augmented by a state law requiring proof of citizenship. (Reuters) The Constitutional basis for this ruling is rather clear. In Article 1 says:

"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations ... "
Thus, the Congress may trump the states. The Arizona law might have been interpreted as enabling the state to enforce, proactively, the citizenship criterion required by the Congress; but, no, now the state will have to enforce the citizenship reactively, by punishing those who falsely swear that they are citizens.

In Arizona, perjury is defined as "knowingly" making a material false statement. The obvious defense against a charge of perjury is "no lo comprendo, señor." So, in order to reactively enforce the citizenship requirement, it will be useful to advise those who present themselves to vote of what they have sworn, with witnesses present.

In Arizona, the penalty for perjury, first offense, is up to three years in prison. Democrats should be o.k. with this, because their beloved illegals will be back on the street in time to vote in the next Presidential election.

Dr. Thies is a professor of economics at Shenandoah Univ. in VA.
