Now this is something special. We've designed a font based on a sample of title lettering based on the American Art Deco magazine Shadowland with a full character set and ready to use. Shadowland was bi-monthly magazine published very briefly in New York City from 1919-1923. It covered design, art, dance theatre and movies with a very thorough Art Deco aesthetic, really very early for Art Deco. It's cutting edge design was highlighted by every issue having a unique cover by A. M. Hopfmuller who also presumably designed the title lettering. It was eventually sold and renamed and became mostly a movie magazine with none of the original character or design quality. In the last 100 years Shadowland Magazine has become ridiculously collectable. Individual copies of the magazine sell for hundreds of dollars. While we can't provide copies for everyone, you can find a selection of out-of-copyright images of the covers at the end of this article, and the you can get the font for use in your own designs. This is a unique font you can't get anywhere but The Scriptorium.
